As the mum of a small baby and a two year old, Liz Sergeant knows first hand how much of her energy her kids use up. But unlike the rest of us, Liz has a sneaky advantage.
She’s a registered nutritionist and understands that what you eat not only affects your energy levels, but also your sleep quality, mood, concentration, digestion, body shape and many other health complaints.
Liz believes that the foundation of good nutrition and health is based on eating real foods. She also knows that mums lead busy lives, and with so much conflicting dietary advice out there, this can be a lot harder than it sounds. She founded The Well Nourished Club to help cut through the confusion and support people to change their diet, improve their nutrition and achieve their goals.
Clare Medcalfe runs Simply Nurture and is our sleep expert for the course. She has trained with The Children’s Sleep Charity and is a top sleep practitioner in the area. She is very passionate about helping families get better quality sleep and as a mum to two teenage daughters she has been through it all! She also wears many hats as a qualified nurse working with a health visiting team and as baby massage and yoga teacher.
The magical Donna Smith with be coming with all her Hartbeeps magic sprinkles to chat to us about baby development. Susan runs Mini First Aid classes locally teaching parents, grandparents and carers of little ones Baby and Child First Aid. Before having her 4 very lively children Susan worked as an NHS Physiotherapist in an acute hospital setting. Susan is very passionate about teaching First Aid after an incident with her son who choked when he was 9 months old. Fortunately Susan knew what to do and within minutes her son was fine but the fright made Susan realise just how important knowing what to do in an emergency situation is. She wanted to help make learning Baby and Child First Aid more accessible for everyone, so she decided to train as a First Aid trainer and through her Mini First Aid classes has helped hundreds of local families learn what to do in an emergency. She has also recently trained as a Community First Responder to work as a volunteer to help support the work of East Midlands Ambulance Service in her immediate community. Susan’s First Aid sessions are relaxed, friendly and informative and she is looking forward to meeting you and your little ones as part of our courses in Leicester.
