We can’t wait for Nurturing Mums to launch in Market Harborough next week – meet Jenni, the mama making it happen…
What in particular about Nurturing Mums made you want to launch your own course?
I attended Nurturing Mums in Earlsfield when my little one was 4 months old. I had done an antenatal course and the running joke in our whatsapp group was, ‘no one told us…’ about life with a real baby. I loved the simple concept of the course and could see why it was so important to not only have antenatal support but postnatal as well, something more than just a google search when it came to all the important topics. I was in the process of moving and was inspired to make sure more women had access to this support, hence why Nurturing Mums East Midlands was started.
What was the best take-away you got from your course?
I think it had to be the weaning week, I really enjoyed hearing a balanced view from a nutritionist about all things weaning. Every source I had come across previously had always taken either the puree or baby led side but not here, pros and cons were chatting about to give a much more informed picture.
New mums on the course will get to meet you and your team of experts, what little secret can you tell us about your mum experience so far?
I have loved becoming a mum and have definitely learnt some things on the way! Probably my little secret would be, it’s ok to change your mind. I always thought I would be really structured with routines etc but actually that didn’t work with my little one and I had to be ok with changing how I thought it would go…and that’s ok.
One thing you wish you had known when you first became a mum?
Enjoy your 4th trimester! (From day 1 to 12 weeks, give or take) Make the most of this precious time at the beginning and enjoy how much love you get shown.
There’s still time to snap up your spot here for the first Nurturing Mums course in Market Harborough starting next week – if we’re sold out, you can always sign up for January 🙂
