Why join a group for new mums?
WHAT CAN YOU DO AFTER HAVING A NEW BABY?
You may or may not have done your antenatal course but didn’t realise that early days with a newborn would be so tough! Your moods go up and down, and sometimes you don’t even get dressed until two in the afternoon. That is if you even leave the house at all! It may feel like your life as you knew it before has been turned upside down. Your nights are broken and you are shattered beyond belief. What can you do?
WHO CAN YOU TALK TO WHEN YOU ARE A NEW MUM?
London can be an isolating city. It can be hard to meet people and you may find yourself without any friends who you can talk to about baby stuff. You may not have family in London to help in the way that you imagined. Your other friends without babies or whose kids are older seem to be of no help. Who can you talk to?
WHERE CAN YOU GET ANSWERS TO ALL OF YOUR BABY QUESTIONS?
You have so many questions but don’t know who to ask. You have read endless parenting books and have searched online for hours but are confused about routines, sleep, weaning and milestones. You wish you had a place to go where you could sort some of the information about new babies out in your mind. Where can you get answers?

Frequently Asked Questions
What age should my baby be when we attend a Nurturing Mums postnatal course?
Any age between newborn – 9 months. These are not definitive ages, they are recommended to help you get the most enjoyment from the course.
Can I join with a friend?
Of course! It is fun to come with someone you know, but don’t be shy if you are coming on your own as the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, helping you to make new friends.
What if I’ve already done NCT or another antenatal course?
That’s great, not a problem at all. Our courses are specifically designed to help you in the days once your baby has been born. We tend to cover completely different issues.
Can I sign up when I’m pregnant or as a second time mum?
Yes! We have had quite a few pregnant mums sign up before the baby is born; it is a great way to be prepared as you may be busy with other things in the few weeks after the birth! The course has had many second time mums who are interested in having a group of friends for their new baby as well!
Can I breastfeed at the sessions?
We welcome all types of feeding. Our venue is spacious and welcoming, and there is plenty of room for buggies, car seats and other baby equipment. After the session is finished, you are welcome to stay as long as you like to feed.
