She has worked on various children’s wards, and in the community, both as a research health visitor (working on safe sleeping), and family health visitor. She received sleep training from the Southampton Sleep Training Course, MNT (OCN level 3) and Millpond. Susan runs Mini First Aid classes locally teaching parents, grandparents and carers of little ones Baby and Child First Aid. Before having her 4 very lively children Susan worked as an NHS Physiotherapist in an acute hospital setting. Susan is very passionate about teaching First Aid after an incident with her son who choked when he was 9 months old. Fortunately Susan knew what to do and within minutes her son was fine but the fright made Susan realise just how important knowing what to do in an emergency situation is. She wanted to help make learning Baby and Child First Aid more accessible for everyone, so she decided to train as a First Aid trainer and through her Mini First Aid classes has helped hundreds of local families learn what to do in an emergency. She has also recently trained as a Community First Responder to work as a volunteer to help support the work of East Midlands Ambulance Service in her immediate community. Susan’s First Aid sessions are relaxed, friendly and informative and she is looking forward to meeting you and your little ones as part of our courses in Leicester.
